Homeowners Rates and ISO:  The Oklahoma Initiative

Insurance CE:  One Credit

This is a 50 minute classroom course.

Course Description:

ISO fire protection ratings affect homeowners’ insurance premiums throughout the US.  The criteria for determining ISO scores changed in 2013.  Improving ISO scores requires a whole community effort.  It involves the fire department, 911 service, water district and civic education.  This course discusses how the scores are determined and the effect they have on homeowners’ rates.  It demonstrates a successful initiative that have saved homeowners in Oklahoma over $6,000,000 in premium.  Some individual homeowners are saving over $1,000 per year.  The course suggests ways insurance professionals can get involved to help reduce costs for their clients and their community.
